Asian Flare

This relatively large piece stood out to me as soon as I entered the room with the many exciting  complementary colors and stacked layers. I recognize the influence from different cultures and his enjoyment of outsider art forms. It is a beautifully put together work of art with a lot going on that seemed confusing but in the best way. It made me think about what he was thinking of during the process. The most prominent element used here is space he used his space wisely with the overlapping of layers to create 3-D designs that really pop out at you. The shape to it is organic interesting reminding me of the many cultural influences particularly a Japanese feel to it.

I believe the art was made to meet the need of the artist. His use of natural shapes and and jagged lines flows so well together with harmonious colors as well. That tells me that he created things out of his own mind really creating for himself something that no one else has in the way he has. The applicable aesthetic philosophy I get from this piece is Avante Garde in respects to his own expression of art which challenges and makes the viewer think about things in a different perspective.
